5 of the Best Toddler Gifts for Green & Natural Families
Baby received so many generous gifts over the course of the holidays this year, and I especially love the ones that fall within the green or natural categories. I like these toys because they are:1. simple which allows for imagination,2. not made of plastic,3. appreciated by both my 18 month old son and me!
1. Discoveroo Wooden Windmill Stackeroo Stacking ToyBaby never seems to tire of stacking toys, and he was especially excited that this one has a windmill on top as well as more than one hole for stacking purposes on the colored circles. The toy is made of plantation tea wood, and I love that it is beautiful, affordable, and made of sustainable wood. (Thanks to Michelle from Everything's Abuzz since I won this toy in one of her blog's green giveaways!)
2. Little Partners Learning TowerBaby adores the fact that he can now see out of our windows and stand safely at the kitchen counter with me, thanks to the learning tower. I love the fact that they sell for $199.99, but I found one on Craigslist for $60!
3. Rambler Winter Wagon SetThis is the ultimate red wagon, in my opinion. It has serious tires that can handle the hiking trails behind our house, and you can replace the tires with skiis for snowy days! Baby enjoys riding in it due to the soft padding - and because his cat seems to enjoy riding in it with him too. :-)
4. Warm, Organic Fleece Footy PajamaThis pajama suit is so soft and warm. Baby loves snuggling into them and they take the place of a sleeper sack or blanket for us as he wears them over his regular pajamas. I love that they are organic, which means they are made without flame retardant chemicals. For more information on why this is important, see Is All Children’s Sleepwear Treated with Flame Retardant Chemicals?
5. Wonderworld Eco-Friendly Little Green WorldThis toy is a combination of puzzle and fun little play world. The emphasis is on environmental awareness and green energy, but your little one will mostly enjoy manipulating the pieces and having his own wooden trees like Baby does. I like that this is made from rubber wood, non-toxic paints, dyes and lacquers and formaldehyde free glue.
