The Oogieloves Movie: A Joyful G Rated Experience (Plus a $150 Kids Pack Giveaway)

My 26 month old son is a very sensitive child, so in our house, television watching is kept to an absolute minimum, and it's mostly Curious George and Thomas the Tank Engine. To give you an idea of how deeply he feels things, he once burst into tears when he saw Curious George using an apple press to make apple juice because he worried that the apples were getting hurt.
For this reason, I was very intrigued when I first heard about the new movie coming out, The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure, and even more interested when I learned that this movie was so family friendly that they were promoting it as being rated GGG. G rated movies are so rare these days, so a triple G rating seemed like the kind of movie my son could handle and enjoy. My husband and I are big movie lovers, and the thought of being able to take my children to a movie as a special treat for our family was wonderful.

It was so relaxing to take my kids to a screening of The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure last week, and I realize what a special anomaly that experience was. You may wonder how it could possibly be relaxing to take kids to a movie where you have to worry about how the content of the movie will affect your little ones, as well as how to keep them in their seats for 90 minutes or so. The short answer is that the content of this movie is perfect for small children. The themes of the movie revolve around joy and love and happiness. There is no violence, no sexual innuendos, no parent dying as is the case in most Disney movies, no bad words, and absolutely nothing negative of any kind! For the mama of a sensitive child, this was a major relief.
The other unique aspect of The Oogieloves movie is that it was created with the intent to keep your children OUT of their seats. We had the opportunity to speak with the film's creator Kenn Viselman, and we learned that he set out to design a movie that would give children the opportunity to dance, cheer, move, and sing throughout the movie experience. This means you don't have to try to keep your child in her seat. Instead, you can encourage her to fully experience the story and leave the sedentary movie going experience to the older folks - although I guarantee you will be up dancing with your little ones as well thanks to the catchy songs.
Below, you can see how my special guy took advantage of this revolutionary movie experience as he sports his dance moves in the movie theater aisle and positions himself smack in the middle of the aisle so he could have easy access to dancing and cheering:
