Curious GeorgeMy little ones and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a sneak preview of PBS KIDS's seventh season of Curious George, and it was a huge highlight in the life of my two year old son. TV watching is very limited in our home, but when my son does watch TV, it's always PBS KIDS's shows that I trust to offer fun, safe, and educational programming. Curious George is our family's favorite, so we were thrilled to learn that a new season would be premiering, and even more excited that the season includes an Australian adventure - a country that my husband and I both love.
For all of the other animal lovers out there, I'm sure you'll also enjoy the fact that Curious George gets to have some fun this season with one of the sweetest animal conservationists out there - Bindi Irwin. Bindi teaches George about animals such as koalas, emus, and kangaroos. "Monkey Down Under" - the first episode of the season premiering Monday, December 3rd - kicks off an entire season of animal themed episodes. This is so perfect for my little animal loving guy, and we can't wait to see more of these new animal episodes.

Curious George BookI'm looking forward to extending our Curious George animal experience by doing these special animal activities with my son. The PBS web site offers fun downloads including “Exploring the World of Animals” for tips on identifying animals in their own neighborhoods, an activity sheet with George's Butterfly Hide-and-Seek for coloring butterflies, and an “Act Like an Animal!” activity, which helps children make a "critter catcher."
Family with Curious George
We love watching Curious George explore the world, and I love how he inspires so much curiosity in my own little guy. George's friends like Man with the Yellow Hat, Hundley, and Gnocchi Cat are regularly part of dinner table discussion at our house as my son shares their adventures with us. Curious George also seems to naturally promote hands-on exploration and science and math-related play at home, which is particularly exciting to this former teacher mama.
Tune in this week for the season premiere of Curious George on Monday, December 3rd followed by two more brand new episodes airing Tuesday and Wednesday, December 4-5!
Disclosure: I attended a sneak preview of the seventh season of Curious George, but all opinions expressed in this post are my own.
