Baby Bond Nursing Cover Review and Giveaway

Sponsored by Tomoson.com I received a Baby Bond Original Nursing Cover from Baby Bond, a company started by Missy Reder. I was impressed with Missy's inspiration for starting the company because I could identify with her feelings about nursing. She was determined to incorporate nursing into her lifestyle and to nurse in public everywhere. Missy felt that nursing gave her the ultimate opportunity to bond and interact with her baby, and she wanted to be comfortable doing this everywhere. She found that most nursing covers actually covered the baby's head and therefore removed this key part of the nursing experience when she was out in public, so she created a nursing cover that would keep her from being fully exposed, yet allow the full nursing experience.
I have really been enjoying my Baby Bond Original Nursing Cover because of this. When I wear the Baby Bond, Baby's head is not covered. He can comfortably nurse without any fabric actually on him, and yet I am fully covered. Baby and I are able to look at each other and maintain that bonding gaze that I love so much about nursing. I can talk to him and smile at him and he can easily see me without any obstruction.

The Baby Bond Original is worn like a sash and it is meant to be used with shirts where you can nurse from the top. It's extremely easy to use, and it truly doesn't feel like you are wearing a nursing cover at all.

Another interesting feature of the Baby Bond Original is that it has a built in burp cloth on the should area of the sash. Throughout the past two weeks of using the Baby Bond, I have thought several times that I really wish I had this cover when Baby was a newborn. Baby had really bad acid reflux when he was very little and he spit up all the time. That built in burp cloth would have been very handy as I was always dropping the burp cloth when I was trying to stay covered and nurse him in public. Another reason why the Baby Bond would have helped me tremendously in these early days is that Baby used to have marathon nursing sessions in the early evening - the time when we would most likely be out socializing or out to dinner. We called these sessions "monster feeds" because they would go on for one to two hours. I hated keeping Baby covered for all of that time, and this style of nursing cover would have made things easier on both Baby and me.
