A Letter to Baby on His 17 Month Birthday

Dear Baby,
I can't believe you are 17 months old today! I love seeing you grow and learn every day. It's mind blowing to see how many new things you can do on any given day of the week.
Here are 17 of the fun things you do that I don't want to forget:
1. You give us the most incredible smile whenever we say the word smile or whenever you are proud of something you have done. You also flash this amazing smile whenever Grandma starts singing: "Hey, good looking..."
2. You somehow have learned all of the primary colors over the last two months.
3. You recognize letters and their sounds - mostly the letters M for Mama, D for Dada, J for your name, and H because you just love the sound.
4. You have become quite the dancer! No matter what you are doing, if you hear music, you start showing off your moves. You started off as an all arms guy, but now you've incorporated bouncing, squats, clapping sequences, kicks, and stomps into your repertoire.
5. You still love spending most of the day "reading". You like to ask us what everything is, and you can also identify almost anything we ask in the books.
6. You continue to be OBSESSED with our cats, trees, and BRMM BRMMs (cars and trucks).
7. If we tell you something is a "no, no" before you really start doing it, you simply know not to do something. For example, when we visited Grandma and Grandpa, we showed you the stairs and told you it is a "no, no." You never touched the stairs and every time you saw them - or now see them in a picture, you point at them and shake your head no.
8. You are a big sound effects guy! Your spoken words are Mama, Dada, your name, Elmo, brmm brmm, and more, but you can make many animal noises. You also say: Ahhh when you see a drink, and Mmmmm when you see food. It seems like every day, you add a new sound effect to your little mind library.
9. You love to play with clothes! You can spend hours going through the laundry basket.
10. You are so affectionate! We feel so lucky to get tons of hugs and kisses from you every day.
11. Some of your favorite things to do are to pretend you're on the phone, to build towers with wooden blocks, to play with your wooden color stacker, to play drums, and to empty out "your" cabinets in the kitchen.
12. You consume more fruit than anyone I have ever seen!
13. You love to climb up on the couch and run across it.
14. You would spend all day, every day outside if you could. You enjoy finding pine cones and other little natural wonders and going for walks in your little blue car.
15. You are completely enchanted by snow globes.
16. You love to laugh! You laugh really loud any chance you get.
17. You make Mama and Dada feel like the luckiest people in the world! We can't even imagine anyone as wonderful as you!
